The Reverse Osmosis block is built as a compact and powder coated / stainless steel skids with pumps, aesthetic piping & instruments to suit. Paalsun Engineers offers an option of stainless steel / FRP housing for the membranes. The piping for the RO systems is available in normal SS 304 / SS 316 to higher versions like electro-polished stainless steel for specific applications. The water softeners utilize a strong acid cation resin in the Sodium form to exchange the hardness salts in the raw
water. All Softeners are offered with complete inbuilt regeneration system and Brine tank. Both co-current and
counter-current regeneration options are offered based on the inlet water quality. The typical application are:

Mixed Bed de-mineralizers are used downstream of the DM unit, to achieve high purity levels in the treated water. Mixed bed units comprise of a single vessel with a mixture of cation and anion resins. The mixed bed units are offered with complete service and regeneration piping, self-supporting skid foundation and chemical tanks for regeneration.
Carbon bed media filters are utilized as polishers for residual organics and chlorine removal. Various options are available for the carbon media form the normal Iodine value to higher Iodine value carbon for specialized applications.
Packaged heat exchanger skids are used to isolate process fluid from cooling fluid. This is used in many manufacturing applications because the process fluid is generally contaminated, at a higher or lower temperature, and not compatible with the cooling fluid or equipment. Demineralization is the process of removing mineral salts from Water by using the ion exchange process.
Demineralised Water is Water completely free ( or almost ) of dissolved minerals as a result of one of the following
processes :
- Distillation
- Deionization
- Membrane filtration (reverse osmosis or nano filtration)
- Electro dyalisis
Demineralized Water also known as Deionized Water, Water that has had its mineral ions removed. Mineral ions
such as cations of sodium, calcium, iron, copper, etc and anions such as chloride, sulphate, nitrate, etc are common
ions present in Water. Deionization is a physical process which uses specially-manufactured ion exchange resins
which provides ion exchange site for the replacement of the mineral salts in Water with Water forming H+ and OH-
ions. Because the majority of Water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a high purity Water that is
generally similar to distilled Water, and this process is quick and without scale buildup. De-mineralization technology
is the proven process for treatment of Water. A DM Water System produces mineral free Water by operating on the
principles of ion exchange, Degasification, and polishing. Demineralized Water System finds wide application in the
field of steam, power, process, and cooling.

Micron Cartridge Filters are filters which filter the water to designated Micron rating. This is achieved by specially designed cartridge elements to be housed inside the Filter vessel.
Cartridge filtration units generally operate most effectively and economically on applications having contamination levels of less than 50 to 80 ppm. For heavier contamination applications, cartridges are normally used as final polishing filters.
